Now that Ascending Tide has been out for several weeks, The Elder Scrolls Online has an updated roadmap for High Isle, including a special preview stream today at 4pm EDT. Meanwhile, the ESO team has been working to address login and connection issues.
The Elder Scrolls Online has had weeks of connection and login issues. From a major hardware issue that was discovered to be causing instability on the North American PC megaserver, to connection and stability issues affecting the European PC megaserver. While improved, these issues continue to affect some players. Studio Director Matt Firor posted an update on what the situation looks like now, especially in light of the new Free Play event beginning.
With the Free Play event, they’re looking to have a queue to throttle entry during high load, but this is likely to be on PC and during prime play times. Firor states that at this time of year, demand around the anniversary event and new chapter launch does increase, so with the recent server issues, they’re going to closely monitor performance and be ready to address it.
High Isle is going to roll out on PC on June 6th and console on June 21st. The preview stream today will unveil some of what’s coming. A roadmap was updated this week to show what is ahead in Q2, High Isle, as well as update 34 to the base game. High Isle will be a new zone in the update, which is set to feature 30 hours of new story content. It will also debut a new card game system, Tales of Tribute. You’ll get to meet two new companions, Isobel and Ember, and take on the challenges of the new 12-player Trial, Dreadsail Reef, and new World Events, Volcanic Vents. In the new chapter there will also be 10 new item sets and Mythic items, collectibles, furnishings, dyes, along with achievements and titles.
Ahead in update 34 expect Spanish localization, housing, new furnishings, and houseguests, an updated quickslot wheel, a choice of title screen music, and more. There will be some accessibility improvements as well.
