Stardew Valley is a game that offers its fans a world full of twists and turns, adventures, and a slice-of-life experience. Released in 2016, it quickly became one of the best indie games of the year, and with good reason, there are many marketing opportunities when it comes to expanding the game's popularity.

An online shop that goes by the name Sanshee gained notoriety for its extensive list of items offered to the public, ranging from plush toys to enamel pins to even clothing and coffee mugs. One popular item in the shop is a Stardew Valley plush pillow, featuring two colors of chickens, and two new colors will arrive soon.

The adorable chicken pillow plush is currently available in blue and black colors, but Sanshee recently added two new colors open for pre-order. The store is adding the generic white chicken and brown chicken as options, bringing the total number of Stardew Valley chicken items up to four, and all are available for $34.99. Currently, the blue chicken plush is out of stock, but the popular and beloved Void Chicken is still available for purchase. The ConcernedApe brand also offers plush pillows of characters like Abigail, Sebastian with a small frog, and Shane with a chicken, all of which are listed at the same price.

If the photos of the winged creatures don't do it enough justice, the reviews are strong selling points. Fans who made the leap and spent money on the plush pillows have only said positive things about the items, stating how soft and huggable they are. Unlike their video game counterparts, these squishy chickens don't require feeding as they do in Stardew Valley but are in constant need of attention and hugs. They measure eight inches tall, eight inches wide, and nine inches long and are officially licensed by ConcernedApe, the game's creator. It's also worth noting that since the item is currently on pre-order, Sanshee suggests making separate orders and not including pre-ordered items in the same purchase as available items.

The reaction on social media is booming with excitement over the addition of the new breeds of chickens, and some have already put in their pre-orders. It marks the second wave of colors in five months, with the blue and void chickens arriving in the shop in December 2021, and hopefully it won't be the last batch. Chickens are a big hit in terms of popularity, with one fan even recreating a Stardew Valley chicken through pixel art. It's no surprise one is already out of stock, and it probably won't be long before the remaining three colors follow.

Stardew Valley is currently available for Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Switch, and Xbox One.
