Magic users in Skyrim remain one of the best counters to the game's various powerful enemies such as the dragons that use flight to their advantage to the Frost Trolls that pose a bigger threat early in the game before players earn more experience. Recently, one Skyrim fan discovered a strange issue while fending off a powerful Frost Troll on one of the many mountainsides in the RPG as they trigger multiple kill cams in a row.

Reddit user Haalchaz posted a clip of their Skyrim adventures in which they are being chased by a Frost Troll that's taking minuscule damage from the player's Destruction magic. Although these attacks only cause minor pain to the strong creature, most spells cast still cause a kill cam cutscene to play out. Keeping a safe distance from the Frost Troll, Haalchaz shoots Sparks repeatedly from both hands rather than opting to use magic in one hand and a weapon in another.

Haalchaz's Skyrim clip begins with the player increasing in Destruction level while scaling a mountain to avoid the pursuing Frost Troll and charging the Novice-level spell Sparks with both hands. After shooting a string of Sparks at the enemy, the Frost Troll climbs upward and nearly reaches the Skyrim player as they initiate the first of four kill cams with more Sparks. Unlike with most Skyrim kill cams, the first of four captured by Haalchaz shows the Frost Troll pausing in place rather than falling forward like a ragdoll, which happens each time a Skyrim NPC is defeated.

Instead, the Frost Troll takes a second to flex for Haalchaz as it may anticipate victory while the player continues to backpedal up the mountain. Reaching where Haalchaz previously stood, the Frost Troll takes a wild swing at the air after the second Skyrim kill cam and before Haalchaz fires more Sparks at the stumbling enemy which finally falls to the attack in the third cutscene. Laying on the snowy mountain, the Frost Troll is finally killed in the fourth Haalchaz kill cam which concludes with sending the Frost Troll sliding several meters back down the mountain, forcing the Skyrim player to backtrack if they wish to loot the creature.

The clip ends before Haalchaz is able to retrieve the loot from the slain Frost Troll, but they may have simply continued their travels with how far the corpse slid downhill. Many Skyrim fans have expressed enthusiasm in the multi-kill cam video from Haalchaz, with many noting the particularly hilarious reactions from the Frost Troll in response to the Skyrim player's attacks. It's currently unclear why the Sparks caused multiple kill cams in Haalchaz's Skyrim video, but the game's programming may have anticipated their Destruction spells to be more effective against the Frost Troll.

Skyrim is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
