It seems as though Forever Entertainment’s upcoming The House of the Dead: Remake could be coming to PlayStation 4.

That’s following the uncovering of the game’s key art on the PlayStation Network’s servers. As Gematsu reports, users on Reddit found the art along with an entry published to the Network’s backend earlier today. There’s no other details just yet, but the timing is certainly noteworthy.

The remake of the lightgun classic is due to release this week on the Nintendo Switch as the only format at the time of writing. However, developer MegaPixel Studios has previously worked on the 2020 Panzer Dragoon Remake which came to PlayStation and Xbox following its initial Switch launch. It’s probably too short notice to expect it on the same day, but perhaps we can expect an announcement imminently?

The House of the Dead Remake includes much of what made the 1996 arcade original so popular, but of course adds a few more modern features. These include a Photo Mode, achievements and a brand new game mode. Naturally there’s modern graphics and controls too. No word if they’ve “fixed” the questionable writing from the cutscenes (“Suffer, like G did?”), but the jury is still out whether that’d be an improvement or not.

There’s been no formal announcement at the time of writing, but we’ll keep an ear to the ground for any word of a The House of the Dead: Remake release on PlayStation. The Nintendo Switch version, meanwhile, is scheduled to arrive on April 7, 2022.
