As Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonist Arthur Morgan explores the west, he frequently jots down notes and sketches memorable creatures and scenes. Perhaps it's this detail that leads so many artists to want to recreate the characters and environments of Red Dead Redemption 2 in varying art mediums.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is packed full of gorgeous landscapes and features tons of tiny details that impact the world and the characters inhabiting it. However, a popular subject for Red Dead drawings is Arthur himself, and now one artist has shared a pencil illustration that's extremely impressive.

Redditor ragneidr shared their latest pencil drawing of Arthur Morgan with the Red Dead Redemption subreddit. The post is gaining tons of praise from the community, and with good reason. The art is entirely done in pencil, with crosshatching and shading techniques used to great effect.

Arthur can be seen on the back of his horse, which is rearing up in a majestic pose. Everything is drawn with immense attention to detail, from the guns Arthur carries on his horse to the seams on his clothes and boots. Although there's no color to the art, shading and light is used very well, creating a sense of shadow over Arthur's face and creating a sense of depth to the entire artwork. The end result is remarkable to look at, and could have just as easily been excellent Red Dead Redemption 2 concept art from one of the game developers.

Even though Red Dead Redemption 2 has been out for several years now, many players are still extremely dedicated to the game. The open world makes it so that even those who have spent hundreds of hours in the game often find something new on each playthrough, and the tiny details in Red Dead Redemption 2 continue to surprise and impress new players, as well. Whether it's a fire bottle visibly exploding into a bunch of shattered glass or Arthur's eyes dilating and reflecting the environment around them, the details in the game seem endless.

Red Dead Redemption 3 hasn't seen an official release or development announcement from Rockstar Games yet, so this game could easily see the longevity of GTA 5 or The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim among its fans. Unfortunately, fans of the Red Dead Online component aren't entirely happy with the way the game has been treated by Rockstar. However, there's no next to no debate that the core story mode of the game is superb, and artists like ragneidr are likely to keep producing impressive works as they fall in love with the game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
