After soaring to new heights in 2020, Among Us developers paused plans on working on a sequel to the whodunit game, choosing to focus on the original instead. Now, new content has been teased for the game.Among Us recently suffered from a DDoS attack which plagued its servers for a few days. However, now that those issues have been ironed out, the developers are bringing attention to its plans for the next cosmetics coming to the game.RELATED: Video Game Accessibility Awards Winner List Highlights Healthy Mix of Indie and AAA GamesIn a pair of tweets, Among Us teased the new cosmetics, revealing that players will soon be able to perform tasks or sneak around as the impostor as Ratchet and Clank protagonists Ratchet or Clank. These two are confirmed, though there's no release date or pricing information available for them yet. However, Among Us particularly stirred up excitement when teasing a Master Chief Halo cosmetic for the game.

The tweet isn't revealing much, simply asking what Master Chief is doing sneaking around through air vents. It may be that Master Chief's skin is further from release than Ratchet and Clank, or the dev may simply be trying to drum up excitement and intrigue. In any case, it would seem that the Halo icon will also be getting the skin treatment in Among Us soon.

With Among Us being free or very inexpensive on multiple platforms, the developers are relying on skins like these to pay for development fees and server costs. The company has recently paired up with other major IP holders as well, as a Scream Among Us crossover update was just announced, allowing players to creep around as Ghostface themselves. The developer has also worked with League of Legends in promotion of the Netflix Arcane spin-off. The promotion tie-in with Halo may be designed to help promote the TV adaptation of the Halo games that recently began airing.

These new skins are just part of the content that Among Us has planned going forward. Previously, it released a small roadmap of some of the plans it had for the game, including new modes, quality of life improvements, and additional roles. Releasing new content on a regular basis helps to keep the game fresh and interesting for returning players.

While games like Among Us can't hope to match the number and variety of skins in a game like Fortnite, additions like these are likely welcomed by the fans. With the introduction of these new skins, PlayStation and Xbox fans alike will have something new to try out upon release.

Among Us is available now for mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
