Humble Games has announced that critically acclaimed zen puzzler Unpacking will be heading to PlayStation platforms in the near future.

The indie darling originally launched on Xbox consoles, Game Pass and PC last year and sold over 100K copies in its first ten days. However until now it hadn’t appeared on Sony’s machine. A physical release is also coming from Limited Run Games on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Humble didn’t give a specific release date, however and has only said it’s coming ‘this Spring’.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Unpacking tells the story of one person’s life through their belongings. You’re given a series of rooms over the course of the game along with boxes of items. Quite simply, you must find spaces for all the items, and as you do they’ll reveal clues about the mysterious unseen protagonist.

The game’s won an absolute bevvy of awards since its release. They include two 2022 Game Developers Choice Awards just last week in the Best Audio and Innovation categories. It was also nominated for an impressive four Independent Game Festival Awards at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco at the same event.

Our Josh spent some time with the game himself over the Christmas break, and wrote down his feelings over here. You can also check out a new trailer for the game for yourself below. Unpacking is ‘coming soon’ for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
