Much like its predecessor, Horizon Forbidden West packs in an awful lot of collectibles. What a lot of players might not realize though is that as well as Ornaments, Vista Points, Black Box Recordings, Signal Lenses, and Survey Drones, there's also a super-secret set of collectibles that serve as an homage to one of Sony's other big Playstation exclusive series, God of War.

Unlike other collectible sets in Horizon Forbidden West, War Totems don't show up on the map, nor will collecting them provide players with Skill Points or XP. That's not to say that tracking them down is completely pointless though, as finding all three War Totems will unlock the Mark of War Face Paint, while also providing players with some nice God of War-themed Easter Eggs to get them in the mood for Ragnarok.

Where to Find the Totem of War (Kratos)

To find the Totem of War, players should head for the Sunwing site east of the Greenhouse research facility where they first met Alva. After taking care of the hostile Sunwings there, they should head north and look for a cabin nestled against the side of the nearby mountain. Those who've played God of War (2018) should notice the rather obvious similarities between it and the one where Kratos and his family were living at the beginning of the best-selling PS4 game.

In the storage area to the left of the cabin's main entrance, players will find their first War Totem sticking out of the snow. It's based on the God of War himself, Kratos, and can be picked up by pressing the Triangle button while standing in the immediate vicinity. Aloy will also remark that the cabin has seen better days, hinting that Kratos and Atreus probably haven't been back to it for quite some time.

Where to Find the Totem of Youth (Atreus)

To find the Totem of Youth, players should make their way to the Stormbird site due west of the Shrouded Heights Vista Point. For those having trouble finding it, it's to the northeast of the small island that's on the far left-hand side of the map. Once there, players should take out any Stormbirds, head a little to the east, and then look for a derelict overpass with a rusted-up yellow school bus nearby.

From here, players should use the grapple point to get on top of the overpass and then position themselves so that the remains of the Golden Gate Bridge are clearly visible in the background. This will reveal the Totem of Youth, which, as the name might suggest, is based on Kratos' young son Atreus. After she picks it up, Aloy will remark that the carving looks like a boy.

Where to Find the Totem of Brotherhood (Brok & Sindri)

To find the third and final War Totem, players should head for the Frost Glinthawk site to the south of the Latopolis research facility where they first encountered the Far Zeniths during the Death's Door main story mission. For those who need another point of reference, it's to the southwest of the Jagged Deep Black Box on the east side of the Spinebreak mountains where Aloy and her companions set up their base. Once they arrive there, players should take out the Frost Glinthawks and then look for a dead Widemaw with a hammer buried deeply in its side a little to the north.

After further investigating the hammer, Aloy will suggest scanning it with her focus, which will reveal some tracks leading off to the south. If players follow them, they'll find themselves back on the small island with the Glinthawk site and what appears to be the remains of an old cauldron or temple. Near the entrance are the Totems of Brotherhood, which God of War fans should recognize as the Huldra brothers Brok and Sindri; two dwarves who famously crafted Kratos' iconic Leviathan Axe.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PS4 and PS5.
