Since the game’s launch, Marvel’s Avengers has made some great improvements when it comes to cosmetics. Not only has the game improved its offerings to include official MCU costumes and much more comic book accurate skins, but there is also a much more realistic path to earning select cosmetics through in-game activities now.

The fastest and guaranteed way to earn any cosmetic is still going to be to drop some real world dollars and cents in the Marvel’s Avengers Marketplace, but the new Shipments mechanic offers a different path. The game’s Shipments can be opened at any time (as long as players have the required resources) and opening 100 shipments during a select period of time guarantees players will earn one specific costume.

Throughout the end of February and the early days of March, the costume up for grabs is the MCU Iron Man 3 inspired Mark 42 suit. Players who open shipments have a chance to get the Mark 42 with each pull, but if they fail to get it by the 100th open then it is guaranteed. 100 opens is going to cost players a lot of Units, but luckily there’s a bit of a deal going on currently.

Shipments usually require 500 units per open, but through March 3 players are able to unlock each Shipment with just 250. That’s a pretty nice 50% discount and makes earning the Mark 42 a lot more realistic for many of the game’s more casual players. Some fans on social media have expressed the opinion that 250 is a much more reasonable base cost, but so far there are no official changes and the price is still set to revert back to 500 Units per Shipment in just a few days.

Units can be earned by completing just about any in-game activity and players don’t need to grind a certain path to find them. Open crates in each mission is a great starting point. Players who want the quickest route to the required total number to open 100 Shipments may want to prioritize missions that have the highest number of caches around and have quick competition times.

The game’s cosmetic system is definitely still a grind, but the Shipments feature is a step in the right direction. It provides a level of transparency that was totally missing before and also offers players a way to earn guaranteed cosmetic items on a daily basis. Players will likely find out what the next Shipment reward is going to be in the early days of March, so be sure to check back for more details soon. Until then, Avengers Assemble!

Marvel’s Avengers is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
