The video game Grounded has players control shrunken children who must scavenge what they can to survive against the buggy wilderness of their own backyard. Grounded is developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios and continues to receive updates with new content.

Earlier today, a new post announced that Grounded had reached a 10 million player count even before its full release. The developers expressed their gratitude towards the players enjoying the game and even made a video to thank the player community for its support. However, the news doesn't stop there for the game as the development team released a new update for Grounded.

The new update called "Into The Wood" adds new creatures and areas in Grounded for players to explore in the backyard, including a hive of territorial termites in the new woodpile area. The woodpile area will serve as the lair or "dungeon home" of the termites, and players can use it to craft a new tier 3 ax and new chest armor piece. Players will encounter termites in the woodpile area that they will have to fight, specifically termites and soldier termites.

The update will also add eight new types of creatures in Grounded that players will encounter. This includes black ox beetles, dust mites, scarabs, green shield bugs, ladybug larvae, ladybirds, and the "recently infected" wolf spiders that were suggested by the player community. According to the post, the wolf spiders will even come with a unique "Danger Dumpling" color scheme for anyone who plays in the arachnophobia mode.

As part of the new update, the developers added other improvements to the game based on suggestions from the player community. One of them is the "Craft Many" option that lets players craft multiple items at once, including five of the same item as long as they have the resources for it. Another is the new Peep.R mode that lets players use their hands to zoom in on areas they're looking at across the map and place markers for themselves and other players to see.

The update also adds the Resource Survey Station, where players can scan a specific material type and find out the item's current location on the game map. Then there's the "Hot Deposit" ability that lets players deposit storage items in chests and containers, which is supposed to make inventory management better for players. On top of that, players can also make a Black Ox Axe, Splinter Arrows, a new set of Burr Weed base floors, and more that are added as part of the new update for Grounded.

Grounded is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
