Dread Hunger, a chilling new take on the social gaming experience is out now on PC.
Social Deduction games are all over Steam right now and arctic adventure Dread Hunger is out to keep you guessing and leave you for dead as it arrives on PC. Just launched after a period of early access, Dread Hunger is yet another social deduction game that managed to pique our interest with a unique twist. While more of these guess who style experiences might start seeming a bit sus, Dread Hunger seems to stand out a bit more than most. Like Eville or First Class Trouble, it takes the basic premise of a struggle to survive against a few interlopers and adds a very different scenario.
Players plunging into Dread Hunger will find themselves forging a path through the arctic in the 19th century, feeding coal into the fire and trying to manage the basic resources required to stay alive. With environmental hazards, local predators, and whispers of dark magic on the wind there is plenty to worry about already, but then there are the Thralls. Players positioned as the antagonists will be able to mess with magic, paint food, or think of a dozen other ways to kill their contemporaries.
While we’re plenty excited about the launch, this eight-player expedition is definitely going to be best played with a bunch of friends, because why wouldn’t you want to explain yourself to your significant other after mercilessly leaving them to the wolves.
