January is already halfway over and the second half of the month is full of even more excitement in the world of Pokemon GO. The January 2022 calendar of events doesn’t slow down over the next few weeks and trainers are in for a handful of exciting features, bonuses, and events at any given time.
The weekend of January 22 will mark the first ever Community Day Classic in the mobile AR game and bring the spotlight back to the Gen 1 starter Bulbasaur. This special Pokemon GO event is a lot like a regular Community Day and offers players a second opportunity to rack up a ton of Bulbasaur Candy and shiny spawn encounters. For players who are willing to spend some real world dollars, there is also a Special Research available.
Thanks to some new datamined information, trainers can now get an early preview of that Bulbasaur Special Research’s text and hints about the rewards that are up for grabs. As always when it comes to datamined information, trainers should keep in mind that any of the following intel is still subject to change. The event hasn’t actually started yet, so Niantic could still make tweaks and adjustments to the text, tasks, and rewards before that happens.

There’s nothing too surprising in the story here, but it is very exciting to see that the quest rewards are very likely going to provide players with enough Mega Energy to trigger a Mega Venusaur transformation whenever they are ready.
