The Arcade Crew and Berzerk Studio have announced that demon slaying side-scrolling adventure Infernax will arrive on Valentine’s Day.

Firmly in the mould of classic action adventures like the Castlevania series and Ghosts’N Goblins, the game puts you in the boots of Alcedor. He’s a knight who returns from a battle only to find his home kingdom taken over by unholy forces and ravenous beasts. Armed with a mace, he’ll have to clear the corruption and save his home kingdom.

Rather than just a straight action adventure, Infernax promises choices and consequences for your actions. In addition to putting experience into life, mana or damage you’ll also make story decisions. These can unlock new side missions, areas in the open world and even different endings.

We’re promised plenty of dungeons and bloodthirsty monsters to take on, with many boss battles to take on. The devs tease combat will be quite challenging, but you’ll be able to help yourself get better along the way. There’s a level up system, of course, as well as the ability to buy new weapons and armour.  You can check out a trailer for the game for yourself down below, if you fancy.

Infernax arrives on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on February 14.
