Paladins, the team-based hero shooter that has captivated gamers with its colourful cast and fast-paced gameplay, will be adding a new face. Paladins players will be able to pick up a skin for the hero Viktor, that features the movie character Rambo from the series with the same name.

For the upcoming season of Paladins, developer Hi-Rez Studios has announced via a YouTube trailer that a Rambo skin for Viktor will be available starting next month. The trailer that Hi-Rez Studios published shows Viktor running away from combat, before Rambo approches him and Rambo offers words of support. The remainder of the trailer shows the skin in action.

The thirty-second trailer that Hi-Rez Studios released for the crossover only shows brief clips of the skin in action. While the trailer does not explicitly state that it is coming just to Amazon/Twitch Prime, that is where Paladins players will be able to pick up the skin for free as long as they have a Prime membership. The cross-play compatibility will also mean more exposure for the skin.

Hi-Rez Studios further clarified the Prime Gaming giveaway in a tweet, as well as a post on its Facebook page. The skin will also be Paladins' first drop of the year through the Prime membership.

The iconic movie hero is a good fit for a shooter, and this isn't even the first time Rambo has done a crossover for a shooter. Paladins is looking for ways to keep its player base afloat, and a team up with Rambo sounds like it will be fun for players who enjoy playing Viktor. Viktor is armed with an assault rifle, and the Rambo skin will also use a standard assault rifle. Some fans in the comment section of the reveal trailer on YouTube have expressed disappointment that Viktor will not be using a light machine gun, which is the classic weapon for Rambo or at the very least, the one most people will think of when they think about the action hero's weapon of choice.

While it is not certain if the addition of Rambo will be of any help for Paladins as a whole, it certainly should help get more eyes on the game, and may convince some older players to come back and try out the skin. The skin will be free for any players with a Prime membership after all, so there is no reason not to try out the skin in action if anyone is interested in giving the game a shot.

Paladins can be played for free on Nintendo Switch, PC via both the Epic Games Store and Steam, PlayStation 4, and xbox One.
