Ubisoft has said that 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins could get 60FPS support in a recent tweet from the game’s official Twitter account.

The tease was made yesterday as part of Assassin’s Creed Day. As a quick primer, fans of the franchise use December 21 to celebrate the series, as the date Desmond Miles sacrifices his life in Assassin’s Creed III. While the official channels were relatively quiet this year, they did thank fans for their support of the saga. They then told fans to stay tuned for a potential update for Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Fans have been requesting a framerate update in Assassin’s Creed Origins for some time. And Ubisoft have shown they’re not necessarily averse to the idea, adding 60FPS support in a surprise patch for 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey back in August of this year. Like that update, presumably when it does come, it’ll be for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles, with their higher spec hardware allowing for the higher framerate.

There’s plenty to come in the  future of Assassin’s Creed, of course. Just last week, Ubisoft also revealed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s next expansion. Entitled Dawn of Valhalla, we’ll be diving headfirst into the mythological Norse realm of Svartleheim this March. More DLC is promised after that to give the game a second year of content. After that? Assassin’s Creed Infinity is lurking somewhere over the horizon.
