The Last Hero Of Nostalgaia is set to deliver a first gen gaming experience when it arrives in 2022.
Announced last week at the ID@Xbox Twitch event, The last hero of Nostalgaia is a brand new title from Uk publishers Coatsink and put together by the team at developer Over The Moon. After piecing together The Fall series, this indie outfit is set to throw players back into a time where polygons were the gutting edge.
Coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam with an optimized version for Xbox Series X|S next year, this comedic take on the souls-like genre takes place in a world called Nostalgaia. Full of epic dungeons and video game quests, this realm is collapsing backward into a pixelation. With cities full of ungrateful inhabitants, a narrator who revels in your failure, and a foreboding set of enemies ahead, it’s up to players to fight back against the impending doom that hovers over the world. While The Last Hero Of Nostalgaia might sounds like a way to justify some low brow graphical renders, the very deliberate nod to the early days of video games seems to be an homage.

We saw a lot of subtle beauty in that series and wanted to honor it, by pulling it forward and integrating it with gameplay.
