Frogwares has offered fans an update on the progress of the previous-gen versions of recently-released adventure Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One.

The studio posted the message to fans via the game’s Twitter account, reassuring them that the game is still coming for the older consoles. “Please rest assured that the team is making good progress, and at the moment, we are looking at a Q1 release on PS4 and Xbox One.”

“We had to make the tough decision and delay our PS4 and Xbox One versions back in October and we are still 100% in support of this choice. We needed to take a bit more time to polish and test the game on the older hardware to deliver appropriate performance. This is our top priority, and we’re doing our best to make sure that the release is of a proper quality and well-optimised.”

Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One originally launched for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC last month. It tells the story of a young Sherlock Holmes as he returns to the island of Cordona to investigate the death of his mother. Fingers crossed that those awaiting the game’s arrival on Xbox One and PS4 won’t have to wait too much longer.
