Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1: Vault Locations

Perhaps the easiest way to showcase the locations of the vaults is with a demarcated map, and indeed one can be found below. Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1: How to Open Vaults

With respect to how to open the vault doors, there are several options that are available to Fortnite fans. The most obvious of those options is to follow the instructions that appear on screen when approaching the locks. Specifically, those instructions are to gather players in front of the door, and all paritipants will be given access to what is inside of the vault as soon as they have assembled in the appropriate position.

Alternatively, fans can work to open the vaults solo, and that is actually not a particularly difficult thing to do. Quite simply, approaching a vault while carrying a downed NPC is enough to unlock its door, and the Seven Sentries that patrol some of these sites work perfectly for this approach. It is also indicated that carrying one of Fortnite Chapter 3’s animals, such as a chicken, to a vault door will produce the same result, though that has not been confirmed firsthand.

To note, players that are working on the quest to find Gem Fragments need not be too concerned with either of these methods, as they will not need to get inside of the vaults to obtain these collectibles. Indeed, the Gem Fragments are all situated outside of the locked doors, and fans can walk through them without impediment. That said, players that are searching for fragments should consider trying the solo method for opening vaults, as the powerful Fortnite weapons that are inside may make their hunts easier.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
