Destiny 2 30th Anniversary Celebration (December 7)

First up is the Destiny 2 30th Anniversary event, celebrating 30 years of Destiny developer Bungie. There's been some controversy about how Destiny 2 players have to pay to access the new content coming with the 30th Anniversary pack, but diehard Destiny fans are likely still excited to see what next week has in store, and hopefully it's enough to keep Guardians busy until the Witch Queen expansion launches in February.

One of the main draws of the Destiny 2 30th Anniversary pack is a brand new dungeon inspired by the famous Cosmodrome loot cave. Those who manage to make their way through the new dungeon will be rewarded for their efforts, able to get their hands on the new Thorn armor and much more.

Destiny 2 players can also look forward to the return of the Gjallarhorn, one of the most popular rocket launchers from the first Destiny. The 30th Anniversary pack includes a brand new Exotic quest for Destiny 2 players to complete that will allow them to unlock the Gjallarhorn as their reward, and they can then complete the catalyst requirements to make the weapon that much more powerful.

There's a lot more for Destiny 2 fans to look forward to with the 30th Anniversary event next week, though they'll have to wait for the event to go live before they'll truly know the full scope of what it will entail.

Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific Map Caldera (December 8)

Call of Duty: Warzone was originally supposed to launch its new Pacific map Caldera on December 2, but plans changed at the last minute. Activision made the decision to push the Caldera map back to December 8, and so Call of Duty fans have a lot to look forward to next week.

When the Pacific map launches, it will completely replace the existing Call of Duty: Warzone Verdansk map, giving fans of the battle royale a brand new arena to battle it out on. Players will able to explore Caldera to their hearts' content while attempting to be the last squad standing, and while the new map is clearly the biggest change coming to Warzone next week, it's bringing with it some smaller, but nevertheless noteworthy changes as well.

For example, the Call of Duty: Warzone Gulag is getting revamped with the Pacific map, so that now when players win their 1v1 battles, they respawn with the weapons they were using instead of just the starter pistol. Call of Duty: Warzone loadouts are also getting tweaked with Caldera's launch, so that now players aren't able to purchase a loadout drop until after the first free one appears on the map. This should dramatically change the early minutes of any given Warzone match, as now players will have to use the weapons they've looted longer.

Halo Infinite Launch (December 8)

New content in popular FPS games like Call of Duty: Warzone and Destiny 2 is great, but the most exciting FPS development happening next week is easily the long-awaited launch of Halo Infinite. The Halo Infinite multiplayer beta has been available for a couple of weeks now and has earned rave reviews in terms of its core gameplay (progression complaints aside), and hype is high for the launch of the campaign.

The Halo Infinite campaign is going to be quite the departure from the norm while simultaneously taking Halo back to its roots. 343 Industries is taking a huge risk with the more open world design that Halo Infinite uses, and it will be interesting to see if it all pays off. Fans will find out when the game launches on December 8.
