Publisher Coffee Stain Publishing has announced that co-op mining FPS Deep Rock Galactic will finally arrive on PlayStation 5 and PS4 next month.

The game originally launched on PC and Xbox in May of 2020 after more than two years of early access. You’re playing as a team of space dwarves who are assigned by the titular company to mine alien planets. Of course, these aren’t deserted planets, so they’ll also have to deal with a bunch of alien bugs and beasties while they’re at it.

Players can choose from one of four classes including Engineer, Gunner, Driller and Scout. Each has their own set of tools and weapons, which they can use to both fight off the creatures and complete objectives. Levels take place in generated caves that can vary depending on biome and the mission type selected.

As well as landing on PlayStation, the move also sees Deep Rock Galactic launch a Performance Pass. It’s a completely free version of a Battle Pass offering plenty of free content and cosmetics. There’s 100 levels, including challenges to undertake and bonuses to earn through performance points.

More updates are planned following the PlayStation launch. Season Two will kick off on all formats at some point between March and April of 2022. Developer Ghost Ship Games has offered a roadmap of what to expect, which you can check out over here.
