Moonglow Bay is an indie game that brings players to a world of relatively peaceful fishing. Through its gameplay, players can catch a long list of interesting creatures and turn them into different dishes. Players have been able to dive into its interesting world and tackle the main storyline in Moonglow Bay since the game's release this year.
But, aside from bringing a town back to its former glory, Moonglow Bay essentially revolves around a grand mystery. Though some pieces of this puzzle are straightforward, the Fish for Clues mission has proven to be a bit of a challenge. For those players looking to complete the Fish for Clues mission in Moonglow Bay, this guide is here to help.
How to Unlock Fish for Clues
In order to get to this point in Moonglow Bay, players need to finish a list of side activities. They must repair their fishing vessel, unlock the Cozy Cavern, and fish in a list of different areas. The first two of these tasks requires players to pay the character Sarah 100 shells and make an investment into the Cozy Cavern of 300 shells. Shells can be gathered through Moonglow Bay's main gameplay feature, catching and selling fish, as well as making and selling dishes.
The third part asks players to successfully fish around the Perching Isles, Azure Crossing, and the Border Sea. Once this has been completed, the main character will come up with the idea to ask Elvice (who is in the Cozy Cavern) about the mysterious creature that caused so much damage to the town years before. Approaching Elvice about this story launches the Fish for Clues quest and asks players to return to the Perching Isles.
How to Complete Fish for Clues
With the quest now active, players must sail around Moonglow Bay’s lighthouse and toward the Perching Isles. This group of islands is to the southeast of the player's dock and is a short boat trip. Once in the area, the player's character will point out the tower remnants that are on the main island and give a clue how to solve this mystery.
Though the mission suggests fishing is the key here, players don’t have to cast their fishing rod into the water. The local fishing spots are only going to bring up the normal sea creatures and this isn't a mistake or one of the bugs that prevented Moonglow Bay from releasing on time. In actuality, players need to approach the landmass with the tower and park their vessel right next to the shining pile of red and yellow blocks.
Players then need to cast a line at this pile and reel it in as normal, bringing this important clue in Moonglow Bay’s storyline on board the vessel. With this, the Fish for Clues quest is successfully over and players can head to the aquarium in order to find their next step.
