During the beginnings of the COVID-19 pandemic, games that allowed for collaborative play while everyone was stuck indoors saw a boom. Among Us was one such game that has retained its popularity throughout the pandemic and achieved iconic status for a free-to-play social deduction game. Among Us was actually first released in 2018, but during 2020, its simple and accessible playstyle was credited with acting as a sort of social catharsis from the trauma of the pandemic and lockdown.
While plans for a sequel game were scrapped in favor of improving the first, the developer Innersloth will soon be releasing a physical version of Among Us for PlayStation and Xbox, as well as releasing three different collectors editions. The three different collector's editions offer players different price ranges to choose from, and each will better suit certain types of fans. For all superfans of the game though, or for anyone who relied on it during lockdown to unwind, these collector's editions are also a great opportunity to support the developers of Among Us.
The Crewmate Edition
The Crewmate Edition of Among Us is the cheapest of the three, but still comes packed with plenty of bang for your buck. Priced at $29.99, this edition includes the base game and all DLC with a special 3D lenticular case.
Fun goodies included in this edition are stickers, a Skeld map poster, downloadable phone wallpapers, and 1 of 12 special Mira HQ Holographic Access Cards. This bundle also includes retail exclusive DLC in addition to everything released for the game so far. This pack is by far the best for players who want the physical copy of the game and some of the collectible fun, but can't splash out for the bigger bundles, and for casual fans who like the game but don't need as much of the extras.
The Imposter Edition
Next up is the Imposter Edition of Among Us, which is set to cost $49.99. This version includes all of the above, as well as more Among Us goodies in the form of a lanyard, enamel pin, purple crewmate plush teddy, as well as a pretty snazzy-looking limited edition box.
For all the artworks included in the collector's editions, Innersloth has collaborated with a variety of artists as well as one of the original Among Us artists, Amy Liu. As such, for fans of artwork and merch related to the game, these collector's editions have been selected with care. The Imposter Edition is a good choice for anyone who wants some subtle Among Us merch to sport and for those who want what's sure to be a sought-after plush, but again don't want to splash out for the most expensive edition.
Ejected Edition
Finally, the ultimate collector's edition of Among Us, the Ejected Edition, includes all of the above and an Among Us beanie, a fleecy blanket, and its own limited edition box. Priced at $89.99, this edition is the priciest, but considering the included artworks and merch, the edition has plenty of collectibles to attract big Among Us fans.
The blanket, beanie hat, plush, lanyard, and collectible cards all feature artwork from Hannako Lambert, a popular digital artist hired by Innersloth after designing some merchandise and artwork. Since this edition is the most expensive, it'll likely be most suitable for superfans of the game who are able to splash out for the quality beanie and blanket included.
While these editions won't release in the US and Canada until 2022 the rest of the world can pick up the physical versions of Among Us this December, just in time for Christmas. Fans of Among Us in the US and Canada will get to play the console versions of the game in December, as the digital version will be available just not the physical copy. Since the state of the pandemic is still very much in flux, Among Us still offers escapist and engaging gameplay that can now be enjoyed on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Among Us comes to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 on December 14.
