New World's Server Transfers Begin Tomorrow, Amazon Giving Free Titles And Emotes As Thank You To Fans

New World has finally rolled out details about the server transfers that have been promised since the rocky launch of Amazon's MMO which saw high server queues and wait times. Transfers will begin in earnest tomorrow, assuming a trial run after maintenance this evening goes according to plan.

Transfers will be added to the AP Southeast region first after a patch this evening as a way to test it for the broader, global audience on a live server. Once the team at Amazon deems the server transfers are stable and without widespread issues at least eight hours later, the switch will be flipped for the remaining global worlds.

"When all worlds are back online from downtime, our plan is to monitor the framework we created without turning transfers on immediately. Once we have confirmed that the framework holds up at scale, we will turn on character server transfers in the Utopia world first, in the AP Southeast region. We will closely monitor transfers in this world, and if anything out of the ordinary occurs our team will need to make manual interventions. If all goes well, we will turn it on for the rest of the AP Southeast region, and continue monitoring. If after 8 hours our team hasn’t discovered any issues, we will fully deploy character server transfers to the other regions."

There are some steps players will need to take in order to get ready to transfer, should you be still willing to leave the server that has been home for almost a month now. First you'll need to ensure you've left your current company and that any sell orders or listings on the auction house are removed from the system. From there you'll be able to transfer, keeping your inventory, currencies, houses and more with you on your new home world.

To thank players for their patience, Amazon is giving everyone an in-game title ("The Stoic"), as well as a new emote ("Waiting"). The emotes commemorate, and poke a little fun at the situation Amazon and players have found themselves in after the initial mad rush at New World's release.

You can check out the full details and notes for tonight's patch and downtime on the New World website.
