New World Transfers 'Do Not Meet Standards for Release' Amazon Says Stay Tuned

Queue times have been greatly reduced across all servers for the popular game New World, but that doesn’t mean that gamers are out of the server woods quite yet. With many players and guilds scattered across New Worlds various servers, hoping to play together soon, Amazon says transfers are coming, but they just aren’t ready yet.

Just after launch, while New World was getting bombarded by new players, and queue times were causing players to wait more than three hours to get into the game, Amazon Games Studio stated that they will implement free server transfers so that players can move to less populated servers to play with their friends in about a weeks’ time. Now that a week has come and gone, Amazon has updated their player base with the news that the transfers are not quite ready yet, because they do not meet their release standards:

In addition to the tweet, an official community post was provided by community manager TrevzorFTW which details what players can expect when they are finally able to transfer their characters. The post talks about how players will be able to transfer their characters, and what you can and can’t do when you transfer. Below is a list of what will and will not transfer with you when you initiate a transfer:

What comes with me when I transfer?

  • You will keep all character progression (level, weapon mastery, titles, etc.).
  • You will keep your Faction alliance and progress
  • You will keep your inventory and storage.
  • You will keep all of your currency.
  • You will keep your houses and housing decorations.
  • You will keep all quest progress.

What does not transfer with my character?

  • Your Company membership needs to be terminated before transferring, and will not carry over.
  • Active Trading Post sell orders and buy orders must be removed and will not carry over.
  • Your friends list is world specific and will not transfer.

Players will be able to transfer to any world as long as the world is in your region, is not already full, in maintenance, or already has an existing character that you’ve created previously. After your free transfer, any additional transfer thereafter will require a transfer token, which you will need to purchase in the store. The New World team will let the community know ahead of time when transfer tokens are added to the store for sale.

Have you been enjoying your time in New World? Now that the queue times have decreased and players are able to consistently play the game, do you think you will transfer servers or stay on your current server? Let us know in the comments.
