Nintendo dropped a bombshell when it announced that Nintendo 64 games were finally coming to Nintendo Switch Online, with nine N64 titles set to debut for the service in late October. Besides revealing which Nintendo 64 games would be available for Nintendo Switch Online alongside the launch of the pricier Expansion Pack, Nintendo also confirmed some of the Nintendo 64 games that will be coming to the service after launch.

Among these Nintendo 64 games coming to the Switch Online Expansion pack post-launch is none other than Banjo-Kazooie. Banjo-Kazooie is a classic Nintendo 64 game and considered to be one of the very best titles available on the console, but Xbox owns Rare and therefore the rights to Banjo-Kazooie. Considering this, it was a surprise to see Banjo-Kazooie confirmed for the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, but apparently it may not be the only Rare-developed game coming to the service.

According to Nintendo leaker Zippo, who has accurately leaked Nintendo news in the past, other Rare-developed games are coming to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack down the road. Zippo specifically pointed to Banjo-Tooie, Killer Instinct, and Diddy Kong Racing as titles that are in the pipeline, with the possibility of even more Rare-developed games coming to the service after they make their debut.

Diddy Kong Racing seems like it would top many fans' lists of games they'd like to see added to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, and for good reason. Besides the opportunity to revisit one of the Nintendo 64's most popular racing games, it would give fans the ability to play Diddy Kong Racing with online multiplayer, a first for the Nintendo 64 version of the game.

One of the main benefits of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack is the ability to play classic Nintendo 64 multiplayer games online. If Diddy Kong Racing is indeed coming to Nintendo Switch Online, perhaps Nintendo could time its release so that it comes at a time when maybe fans have had their fill of playing Mario Kart 64 multiplayer online.

Of course, it must be stressed that none of this has been confirmed by Nintendo and is merely a rumor at this time. While Zippo has accurately leaked Nintendo news in the past, it's always possible their intel is off, so fans should take this information with a grain of salt. While it seems likely that more Rare-developed Nintendo 64 games are coming to Nintendo Switch Online in future, the only one actually confirmed for now is Banjo-Kazooie.
