No other vendors inside of Destiny 2 demand the sort of regular attention that Xur commands on a weekly basis. Whether its the possible god roll exotics or legendaries he has to offer, Guardians are sure to check in every Friday to see what wares the agent of the Nine brings with him. However, one player has a suggestion on how to expand Xur's inventory and further improve players' loot experiences going forward.

Xur was first introduced in Destiny as the proverbial exotic vendor who would appear in a random spot between the Tower and Vestian Outpost social spaces every weekend. He returned in Destiny 2 still offering a random selection of exotics every weekend, but would appear randomly across most zones in the game. In the lore, little is known about him other than he is an agent of the mysterious Nine and is believed to be a creation of the Nine rather than a converted agent akin to the Emissary.

His loot pool has undergone several changes during Destiny 2, and Reddit user Experiment_Magnus had an idea on how to further expand Xur's loot pool. Xur's current offerings typically include an exotic weapon, a piece of exotic armor for each character type, an exotic engram, a random selection of legendary weapons, and a random set of legendary armor for the character type the player is currently on. Experiment_Magnus suggests Xur should start offering unobtainable shaders to further expand his weekly offerings.

Magnus specifically points to playlist shaders from previous seasons, faction rallies, and holiday events. They draw the line at endgame shaders that can still be earned from activities like Vault of Glass and Trials of Osiris to keep the player incentive there. Magnus also suggests keeping shaders from vaulted endgame content like the Leviathan and Scourge of the Past raids, along with older Trials of the Nine and Osiris, so players who did complete those activities continue to standout among the playerbase.

Experiment_Magnus' suggestion does not seem unreasonable, especially considering how Bungie has continued opening more avenues to earn loot. The most prevalent is the umbral engram system first introduced in Season of Arrivals and then brought back in a seemingly more permanent fashion in Season of Arrivals. It will continue with The Witch Queen in February 2022 which will introduce weapon crafting into Destiny 2, giving players another path to get weapons with the perk and stat god rolls they are grinding for.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
