Released in 2015 to massive critical acclaim, From Software’s PlayStation 4 exclusive, Bloodborne, has become something of a cult classic over the years. Similar to From Software’s Dark Souls franchise, Bloodborne expands upon that iconic series with faster, more intense combat and a highly unique gothic setting, while keeping From Software’s trademark unforgiving difficulty and suffocating atmosphere.

The game takes place during a plague that has left NPCs infected with a blood-borne disease, leaving the player character, known as a hunter, to try and find the source of the infection while fighting a variety of monsters. Being very much inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s works, Bloodborne’s extensive lore is replete with plenty of cosmic horror elements, and as such, can be quite esoteric. Many fans absolutely adore the game’s narrative for its peculiarity, however, taking any chance they can get to try and explain its irregularity to anyone that will listen.

TikTok team Tom & James, known as bfcuties on the app, have posted a video poking fun at Bloodborne’s legion of fans and their love of the game’s obtuse narrative. The video takes place at an electronic music concert and starts with lively music playing amidst the caption, “Pov you’re at a music festival and I’m trying to explain Bloodborne lore to you.”

The first-person viewpoint then pans to an excited man who abruptly interrupts the concert atmosphere as he quickly begins, “There you are, I couldn’t find you anywhere,” before continuing along with a basic outline of the Bloodborne’s obtuse premise, “So anyway, you start in a town called Yharnam, and you’re looking for something called pale blood.”

The hilarity of the video comes from the sheer inappropriateness of someone trying to explain Bloodborne’s dense lore at a music festival, of all places. The title certainly has its share of fervent fans that could very well want to discuss the game at such an event, though. The video has earned itself over 64,000 likes on TikTok, so clearly many viewers share a similar sense of humor and enjoy poking fun at the game and its fanbase.

Despite the game’s passionate community, Bloodborne has yet to receive any sort of sequel announcement. There have been rumors circulating that Sony and Bluepoint Games, famed for their excellent Demon’s Souls remake, are working on a similar remake of Bloodborne for the PS5, but there is currently no information to back up these claims. Bloodborne fans will just have to keep replaying the original title and discussing its creative narrative, hopefully at a place more suitable than a music festival.

Bloodborne is available for the PlayStation 4.
