An all-new SpongeBob SquarePants game has been announced in the form of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake.

The game was announced over the weekend as part of the THQ Nordic 10th Anniversary Showcase. The premise sees SpongeBob and Patrick given access to wish-granting Mermaid’s Tears by the fortune teller Kassandra. This seems them open a number of Wishworlds, which their friends get lost in and our dynamic duo must visit these worlds and reunite their friends.

You’ll be unlocking plenty of platforming skills such as a Fishhook Swing and Karate Kick across seven distinct worlds. These include locations such as the Wild West Jellyfish Fields and the Halloween Rock Bottom. There’s knights, cowboys and pirates galore too. There’s also over 30 costumes to nab on your travels. Of course, the voice cast from the series are present and correct so expect plenty of buddy banter between Baloon-Patrick and SpongeBob.

There’s no skimping on the game’s soundtrack either. A whopping 101 songs are promised from across the animated series’ twenty year history. You can check out a trailer for the game for yourself down below.

Alas, there’s no release date yet, but expect SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake to land soon on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
