Deathloop features a lot of intricate puzzles, with many offering up worthwhile rewards and collectibles. The key to surviving Colt's journey is to infuse the smart-mouthed protagonist with as much "power" as possible, giving him the best edge to defeat Julianna and the Visionaries that propagate the endless Loop he finds himself stuck in. To keep players from progressing too much, the dastardly team placed a lot of valuable items and useful trinkets behind locked gates, or worse, in safes.

These safes are locked with a variety of number combinations and finding some of them can be an absolute headache. Worse, there are many that give absolutely no "guidance" on how to solve them. A good example of this is the hidden "glyph chest" that's found underneath Aleksis' Mansion in Updaam. By traveling to this area in the morning (or Noon), players can find this safe and unlock it before anyone else does.

The first step in solving this mystery is actually locating the safe. Players who are familiar with Colt's Apartment can make their way there and look out the north-facing window to spot Aleksis' Mansion across the street. Those that are unfamiliar with the location can start from Updaam's Tunnels. The easiest way to find this underground loot is to leave the Updaam Tunnels from the right side and hook a hard right between the buildings a short way down the road (walking towards the massive neon Candy sign, if you end up at the Candy Shop you've gone too far).

From there, players can continue up the right side of the rock path.

Then go onto the roof ahead, and then to the left across a short wall and gate.

Continuing along the path will bring them to a cliff overlooking The Moxie.

Stealth players can continue along the mountainside and jump down behind the nearby camera in the distance to enter the doorway and follow the path through the "tunnel" and another doorway.

In order for the door to open up (during the Morning), the Camera will need to be hacked.

Once on the other side, players should spot Aleksis' Mansion, a horde of Eternalists, and a massive Fox Head jutting out from the mountainside.

If players move to the right side of the fox head (when facing it from the backside) and look over the ledge, they'll see an area they can drop down onto that will lead them to the small cave with the safe.

How To Solve The Safe Puzzle Under Aleksis' Mansion

Upon first glance, the safe puzzle itself looks pretty intimidating. There is a lot of information to unpack and players will notice three separate codes must be entered in order to access the loot inside. Thankfully, the puzzle itself isn't too obnoxious once players understand how it works, but they'll possibly want to write some things down as there are six separate numbers that must be collected from the Updaam area in order to crack the code. The easiest thing is to snag those numbers first.

Creating The Map

Deathloop Map Clean

On the map itself, players will notice a triangle has been drawn on the map near the left-hand side. Looking to the right of the map, against the cave wall, gamers can spot chalk outlines of other triangles, noting that the top triangle looks identical to the one found on the map. In order to discover the location of all the numbers, players will want to first figure out where these triangles go on the map.

Since the first one is in place, gamers simply need to place the other two. The bottom-most triangle on the wall is pointing to a half-faded-out skull, another icon that can be found on the map itself. By putting the triangle point at the skull itself, we can figure out where the next two numbers in that particular set are. The middle triangle can also be placed on the map. For those that are having trouble "spotting where it fits," the bottom left point should line up with the number at the front of the Library.

Once players have all six numbers and where they're located, they can make their way out to Updaam to spot them. They are usually etched into the sides of buildings, door frames, and on walls, and always have a circle around them. Those that are struggling to find any can refer to the full location solution below.

Where To Find Every Number

Drawing a small map can be the easiest and quickest way to find these as it's not possible to reference a map quickly, and players will need to return to the cave to spot the triangle shapes. Here's a look at where all six numbers are for those still missing some:

First Number

The first number can be found underneath Colt's apartment on the pillar next to the door.

Second Number

The second number can be found on the pillar next to the door to the left of Otto's Workshop.

Third Number

Hidden on the wall on the right side of the arch next to The Moxie.

Fourth Number

Deathloop Number Updaam Four Next To Charlies

Can be seen on the building for Charlie's game. Players that try this in the morning will have to look across at it with a scope. If the code is unreadable, they'll need to return at noon when the bridge is up.

Fifth Number

Deathloop Number Updaam Five Library

On the wall to the left of the front doors of the Library, hidden behind a piece of cloth.

Sixth Number

Located near the van at the start of the level by the locked gate and alleyway.

How To Decode The Numbers And Unlock The Safe

Deathloop Glyphs

Once players have all of the numbers in hand, they can return to the cave and use the "cipher on the cave wall" to decode them. Unraveling the numbers is actually pretty simple. Players will notice that each of the chalk-drawn triangles on the wall has a specific set of hash marks at each corner. The corner with no hash marks will represent the first number in a sequence, the second number is the corner with one hash mark, the third is the corner with two hash marks.

By setting the numbers that were found at each corner of each triangle, and then using the cipher to figure out their order, players will have access to all three locks. The locks should be in the same order as the triangles, with the uppermost being the first sequence to be entered into the safe, the middle as the second, and the bottom as the third.

Using the formula above, our code was:

  • 115
  • 541
  • 751

Note that player codes will be different, as each loop randomizes the numbers, and positions, creating entirely new combinations.

What's Inside The Safe?

DeathloopChestInnards

Unfortunately, the reward for opening this particular safe isn't that exciting. In fact, it's a paltry 5750 Residium in comparison to some of the better rewards found in Deathloop. Still, it's another puzzle knocked off the list and an "infusion" of Residium guaranteed during each run. Colt will automatically know the codes after the first time the puzzle has been solved, so players will only need to do it once to always have the reward available.
