At the latest Letter from the Producer livestream, the development team behind Final Fantasy 14 discussed all of the changes that will be coming to various classes in the game. The live stream also consisted of a trailer that highlighted abilities from each job, including the two new classes that will be added to Final Fantasy 14 this year.

Reaper and Sage will be coming alongside the release of the newest expansion, Endwalker, this November. It should be noted that players will have to level up the new classes for a bit in order to use them for the main story of Endwalker. Square Enix does offer a potion for real money that lets players jump to the required level, but these two will not be eligible for the boost.

The 18-minute-long video gives an overview of all the classes present in Final Fantasy 14, but fans will probably want to jump straight to the new additions. Those interested can skip to 12:44 for Sage gameplay while Reaper is shown at 16:27. Both new jobs have looked exciting ever since their initial release. Sage in particular has a been generating a lot of interest, as it is the first healer class to be added to the game since the first expansion’s release back in 2015. Such trailers have been released before every new expansion of Final Fantasy 14, and it is a good way to let players see all of the abilities in action.

Final Fantasy 14 has been rising in popularity for the past few years and the hype for Endwalker is at an all-time high. The number of players has increased by an astronomical amount, and Square Enix had to suspend the creation of new characters in order to fight server congestion. Players have been reporting long queues for logging-in, even on servers with a relatively lower population.

A big reason for this surge can be attributed to the large number of World of Warcraft fans that are giving FF14 a shot for the first time. Blizzard has been facing criticism regarding the quality of content they are currently offering, and subscriber numbers of World of Warcraft are on a downward trend. While Final Fantasy 14 may not eclipse WoW, Endwalker is shaping up to be its biggest expansion yet, both in terms of content as well as the number of active users.

Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker releases on November 23 for PC, PS4, and PS5.
