With the arrival of Season of the Lost, Bungie is introducing a suite of changes to Destiny 2 as the studio builds to the release of The Witch Queen. Some of the more prolific changes seen involve the competitive Trials of Osiris PvP mode, many of which are being met with positive feedback from the community. However, it means more players are running around the Tower to get bounties and claim rewards from Saint-14, but one player has an idea that can speed this process up.

Season of the Lost's third week saw the return of Trials of Osiris, bringing with it many changes Bungie has been hyping since they were announced earlier in 2021. Crossplay matchmaking is now active and will be going forward, eliminating a major barrier of entry to Trials for many Destiny 2 players. It is also easier to earn Trials gear with rewards being issued on round and match wins, though players are still encouraged to go for flawless to earn adept rewards.

Reddit user DArkGamingSiders shared their idea in a thread to improve the player experience when traveling around the Tower in the wake of the Trials of Osiris changes. They suggested adding a third landing zone in the Tower's hanger so players have a faster path to visit Saint-14 to pick up any bounties, passages, and rewards for Trials. It would be the third landing zone inside the Tower, alongside the the zones in the courtyard and the annex.

DArkGamingSiders' idea is not a new idea as Bungie has added new landing zones to help ease traversal and overall access to some areas of the game. The annex landing zone in the Tower is one example of this, being added after Bungie opened up the area during Destiny 2's second year. An additional zone was added to Europa more recently, as well, to give players faster access to the northern-most areas of the zone.

New landing zones don't seem like much of a change or addition on the surface, especially given the size of Destiny 2. However, small changes and additions like this have proven to go a long way in improving the overall player experience.

The third Europa landing zone in Eventide Ruins is an example of this as a consistent complaint after Beyond Light launched was the need to travel most of the Europa zone by sparrow. The Beyond and Charon's Crossing zones were the only two landing zones at launch and were located in the southern half of the map, making traversal more of a hassel. The Eventide Ruins zone helped alleviate this, especially considering the number of activities requiring players to head further north into the Riis Rising area above Eventide.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
