Overwatch fan art comes in many different forms, ranging from video tributes and cosplay to fan art and replicas. The latest Overwatch fan art is particularly special, though, as it sees certain characters brought to life as aluminum foil sculptures.

A well-known Reddit user by the name of TheFoilGuy has gained recognition for his recent posts. Fittingly, they all focus on aluminum foil sculptures, with one of his most recent creations being an aluminum version of the Pokemon Steelix. He has captured other icons from the Pokemon franchise as well, such as Mudkip, while other game franchises like Metal Gear Solid have gotten some love. The MCU’s Captain Carter and Mechagodzilla have gotten sculptures, too, with the fan showing appreciation for some of their favorite franchises.

In recent days, TheFoilGuy has turned his attention to making sculptures based off the cast of Overwatch. The first sculpture was made five days ago, and it perfectly captures the mad scientist Sigma. The positioning of his leg makes it look as if he is floating just as he does in-game, while the bulky shoulders do a fine job of capturing his bulky set of armor. An excellent touch sees the hero holding some foil in his hand, which is clearly meant to resemble the Hyperspheres that the gravity-controlling hero throws at his foes.

Up next is Winston, which is particularly impressive given just how different the genetically engineered gorilla is from a human like Sigma. However, the aluminum foil expert nails the hero’s look, with his Tesla Cannon instantly standing out. A nice touch sees the jumping device on his back captured, while the armor and headpiece look equally incredible. The Overwatch fan did a stellar job of capturing Winston’s unique character design, and with even his hands being detailed, the creation shows just how intricate a foil sculpture can be.

The most recent Overwatch post from TheFoilGuy showcases Ana, and it is by far the most accurate of the bunch. Not only can Pharah’s mother be seen with her sniper slung over her shoulder, but her hood stands out particularly well. It even looks like Ana has an eye patch, and while this might just be a trick of the light, the overall quality of the sculpture suggests otherwise. In the comments, a fan asks for Reinhardt to be made next, and TheFoilGuy confirms that he is coming with the rest of the roster.

With a few dozen Overwatch sculptures like this one on the way, fans of this unique art form should be sure to keep an eye on the subreddit for future posts. While it may initially seem like a strange way to capture the game’s various heroes, there is a lot to appreciate about the talented foil artist’s hard work.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
