Paradox CEO Ljungerud leaves due to "differing views on company strategy"

The CEO of Swedish games firm Paradox Interactive Ebba Ljungerud (pictured) is leaving her position.

In a filing on the company's investor relation page, the company said that Ljungerud was vacating her role "with immediate effect" due to "differing views on the company's strategy going forward."

Former CEO Fredrik Wester has been brought in to replace Ljungerud immediately.

There's no more information about why Ljungerud is leaving, though Paradox is seemingly happy with her performance during her tenure.

"Ebba has done a fantastic job as CEO of Paradox Interactive. During her leadership the organisation, player base and our game projects have been strengthened and grown which give the company a strong base for future growth," chair of the board Håkan Sjunnesson said.

"We regret that she has decided to resign but wish her all the best in future endeavours."

Wester was previously CEO between 2009 and 2018. He was replaced with Ljungerud when he left in February 2019. She was previously chief commercial officer of the Kindred Group and had been a member of Paradox's board since 2014.
