Rockstar Games released Red Dead Redemption 2 back in 2018, but fans of the game continue to discover new details. One player specifically just recently discovered an interesting detail about the guns in the game.

Reddit user Arthur_V_Morgan_1899 recently posted several photos from guns in Red Dead Redemption 2 that included interesting details. Each gun featured the name of the manufacturer engraved on it such as Volcanic, Peeters & Janssens, and Buck Cattleman. Arthur_V_Morgan_1899 also immediately noted that these engravings disappear when Red Dead Redemption 2 players customize their guns.

Guns in real-life traditionally have engravings similar to those found by Arthur_V_Morgan_1899 in Red Dead Redemption 2. Gun owners are familiar with writing on these weapons from modern manufacturers such as Beretta, Colt, and Winchester. Rockstar Games apparently spared no expense in ensuring that this attention to detail made it into Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 includes several historically accurate details, and fans of the game continue to point them out. This encompasses many aspects of the game, from the clothing and weapons to the catalogs and taverns. Arthur_V_Morgan_1899's discovery shows yet another aspect of the Rockstar game that simulates aspects of real life.

Several details about the Red Dead Redemption 2 guns continue to emerge, including one recent post that showed off the shell casings left by shotguns. Considering how early on in Red Dead Redemption 2 players have access to guns, some fans are surprised by how long it took to unveil this detail. One fan applauded Rockstar Games' level of detail in RDR2 on Arthur_V_Morgan_1899's post.

One fan was quick to point out to Arthur_V_Morgan_1899 that players can customize their guns, but they can't engrave them if they want the original writing to stay. Another fan lamented the fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 players can't engrave their own names onto their favorite guns. The are plenty of customization options in Red Dead Redemption 2, but other fans find some of the additional options too enticing to keep the initial writing on the guns.

A Reddit user asked Arthur_V_Morgan_1899 whether or not this gun engraving detail also appears online and the original poster noted that was where they discovered the detail. One Red Dead Redemption 2 player suggested that Peters & Janssens may be a reference to the real-life guns from Smith & Wesson. They also noted that this is a fitting choice considering Rockstar Games' version of New York City is called Liberty City.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available right now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
