During today’s Gamescom Opening Night Live event, 2K Games and Firaxis finally revealed the previously rumored tactical RPG set within the Marvel comics universe. Marvel Midnight Suns will see a huge array of classic Marvel heroes (and anti-heroes) gather together in strategic, apocalyptic, comic-book action.

A somewhat dark ‘n’ edgy trailer featured appearances by Marvel A-listers such as Wolverine, Dr. Strange, Ghost Rider, Blade, Iron Man, and others. This platoon of literal superstars will team up together in an original storyline as new faction “The Midnight Suns”, the planet’s last line of defense. The team will be led by a fully customizable new player character — The Hunter — in a world-ending war against the Sumerian Mother of Demons, Lilith.

Given Firaxis’ pedigree for excellent strategy titles, (see X-COM et al), this release is well worth keeping an eye on.  A Midnight Suns gameplay trailer will arrive on September 1, ahead of the title’s official launch in March 2022. Join the mailing list over on 2K Games’ official Midnight Suns website to receive an exclusive “Nightstalker” skin for Blade.
