Biomutant has been a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to reviews of the game, but it appears Experiment 101 and THQ Nordic's latest project didn't have any problem making revenue. In fact, Biomutant ended up making back all of its costs within a week of its launch.

It looked like it was going to be a rocky beginning for Biomutant, considering its launch week was fraught with reports of performance issues on both the PS4 and the Xbox One. However, the developers have continued to support the title and attempted to improve it as they went along. It appears the quick reactions to performance complaints and the uniqueness of the title were enough to convince the gaming public the title was worthy of spending some cold hard cash on.

Experiment 101's parent company Embracer Group recently put out a quarterly earnings report where it talked about the money made by Biomutant and the fact that the game was a driving force behind the company's successful earnings for the time period. The company said that the game has sold more than one million copies so far and that the "full investment" in the creation of the game was recouped in one week. In fact, the game's success has allowed Embracer to improve its economic standing when compared to the same period of time last year.

It does appear that the continued support of the game has helped sales numbers continue to be solid for all the companies involved in the title's development. Biomutant has several different side quests that players can take on if they want to venture off the path of the main story. There are also a ton of different weapons and builds that can be employed in combat. Biomutant also offers plenty when it comes to the different breeds users can play as in the game. There's also plenty of opportunities to try out those different breeds should someone want to give the story a go from a different angle.

No matter how a user is playing through the story in Biomutant, it appears there's enough there that the consumer has found the game attractive. That's even more impressive when one considers Outriders, a game that had the backing of Xbox Game Pass when it launched around the same time, mostly has question marks around just how much money it has made since it launched.

Biomutant is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
