Aloy, the protagonist of PlayStation titles Horizon Zero Dawn and the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West, will soon be available as a playable character in online RPG Genshin Impact. She will only stick around for a limited time, but the machine hunter is indeed on her way. More information concerning her addition will be shared soon, Sony says.

And that's pretty much all we have to go off right now — the tweet confirming Aloy's inclusion is pretty much devoid of concrete details. Still, it's nice to know the update is definitely happening after rumours recently swirled. There is a character overview available on Genshin Impact's official Hoyolab channel, but it simply introduces who Aloy is — long-time fans will already know what's what.

"Eventually she learned that her origins and destiny were deeply tied to the fate of the world itself, and fought an epic battle to save it against the evil forces of an artificial intelligence from the ancient past. She thought that this would be the end of her journey. But there is always more to an adventurer's tale. She has now come to Teyvat in search of a new challenges. In this brave new world, Aloy is ready for the hunt!"

Here's exactly how you'll obtain her:
