Dying Light 2: Stay Human is set to release this December to the delight of fans who have been waiting for a sequel. While there's still a while to go, a leak has delivered some news for Switch console owners that gives them something else to look forward to. Polish gaming news site ppe.pl has reported that a port of the original Dying Light game is coming to Nintendo's side in the form of the Platinum Edition.
Dying Light has won its fair share of fans with its zombie-killing open-world exploration, with critics praising the game's immersion. And now it seems Nintendo Switch owners will get to see what all the fuss is about, if a recent leak is accurate.
Polish site ppe.pl has reported that the Nintendo Switch bundle includes every bit of DLC Dying Light has to its name, skin bundles and all included for $49.99. It's even been rated by the ESRB, as a promotional image shows. According to the image, the game is set to release in October, perfect for people to pick it up with the new Switch OLED Model.
The game will reportedly have a physical release for the port, and boxed copies come with helpful bonuses for players like detailed maps and a zombie survival guide. It isn't a bad deal for roughly the same price as Dying Light with its DLC and other content bundles on Steam. Due to the nature of this information being revealed via a leak, it isn't certain that this information is set in stone yet.
If this leak is to be believed, the release windows of the Dying Light Platinum Edition for Switch and Dying Light 2: Stay Human are so close to each other that fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming months. Instead of biding time for the sequel to release, gamers can pick up the Platinum Edition on Switch before Dying Light 2's launch for something to play in the meantime.
Some fans may be a bit concerned with the performance of the title before purchasing, though, which is understandable how even smaller games like Sonic Colors: Ultimate need to lower their framerates for their Switch versions. Some potential buyers may need to see the game in action on Switch before purchasing, but sadly for now all that's provided is an image from a leak. Once gameplay is revealed in a proper announcement, players might be able to make their decisions from there.
Dying Light is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch port rumored to be in development.
