A recent Xbox Game Pass ad features a kid playing a game with a PlayStation 4 controller. To some, this may look like a tremendous oversight by the marketing team, but it was intentional. Microsoft has even posted the ad on Twitter and brought attention to this curious addition. With this, the company is clearly encouraging players to use whatever controller they feel comfortable with.

On the official Xbox Game Pass Twitter, the ad depicts a young gamer playing Sea of Thieves with a DualShock 4 controller. Along with it is a caption with an obvious homage to the Nickelback meme of the song "Photograph." Xbox's unique take on the lyrics points out the fact the controller in the ad is from a different brand. This move confirms that Microsoft's cloud gaming service supports PlayStation controllers, which can only widen its customer base.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the highest tier service the company offers. This upgrade doesn't cost a lot more than the standard package, but it does include a lot more. Those debating which service is right for them should look at the benefits of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate vs. the regular Game Pass and take a moment to evaluate if the extra five dollars a month is worth it. If cloud gaming sounds appealing, Ultimate is the way to go.

While allowing PlayStation controllers to be used for its service shows that Xbox is attempting to be more inclusive when it comes to hardware, the games are a different story. In fact, a legend in the industry is rumored to be working on a new title for Microsoft, which could end up making huge waves. According to multiple reports, a Hideo Kojima Xbox exclusive title is in the works. This planned cloud-based game has disappointed many in the PlayStation community but is great news for Xbox owners.

Microsoft is committed to making Xbox Game Pass the future of gaming, making games available on day one, acquiring third-party developers for exclusive titles, and widening its library of games every month. This type of innovation has led to a great year for Xbox Game Pass and the company is hoping to keep up the momentum. Sony, on the other hand, has mostly kept to the same business model, which has proved popular in the past but may not work as well anymore now that Xbox is upping its game.

This month, there are a lot of great games on Xbox Game Pass available to play. This includes Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Limbo, and Grim Fandango, to name a few. Psychonauts is also on the service, so those who want to see what the series is all about or just need a refresher can check it out before the sequel launches this August. It can be accessed via Xbox Cloud Gaming as well, so break out those Dual Shock controllers and start gaming.
