CD Projekt RED has noted that it believes the troubled PS4 and Xbox One ports of Cyberpunk 2077 have achieved a “satisfactory” level of in-game stability. The statement comes following the controversial RPGs return to the PlayStation Store, along with news that Microsoft is ending its special extended refund policy for players unhappy with the release.

As reported by Eurogamer, Adam Kicinski, CDPR CEO, made the comments to attendees at this past weekend’s WSE Innovation Day. “We have already achieved a satisfactory level in this regard [stability],” said Kicinski to news network TVN24. “We have also been working on the overall efficiency, which we are also quite happy about. Of course, we also removed bugs and glitches, and we will continue to do that.” (Translation by Google)

Kicinski noted that the developer was far from finished on updating the console ports, and would continue its work on implementing updates and hotfixes to introduce “improvements to the general systems.” As noted previously, it is in CDPR’s best interests to ensure that the reputation of the Cyberpunk 2077 brand is restored ahead of the title’s eventual release on PS5 and Xbox Series X, which is currently scheduled for 2021, though CDPR is yet to reveal an official date.

While CDPR considers Cyberpunk 2077 stability on PS4 and Xbox One “satisfactory,” it should be clarified that this does not mean the game is “fixed.” Protecting its own interests, the newly reinstated PSN edition is accompanied by a disclaimer, warning customers that they “may continue to experience some performance issues.”

It does seem that Cyberpunk 2077 is in better shape now than it was at its December 2020 launch, the reputation of the Cyberpunk 2077 name as a whole, however, will require equally intricate repair work.
