Fortnite's mysteriously absent NPC 2 has finally appeared on the island. The new character is found hiding inside of a building, so Fortnite players will need to know exactly where to look if they want to find them.
The new character comes as part of the first update patch for Fortnite's Season 7. The alien invasion-themed season introduces a host of new changes to the game, including crossover characters like the titular Rick Sanchez of Rick and Morty, new high-tech weaponry, and several new POIs. The new 17.10 patch includes the Cosmic Summer Event, which adds seasonal LTMs, rewards, and more.
Where to find NPC 2 (Human Bill) in Fortnite
NPC 2, properly known as Human Bill, is definitely not human. Looking more like a Fortnite version of Crypto from Destroy All Humans!, Human Bill is a blue-skinned alien wearing shades and a well-tailored tuxedo. To find the extraterrestrial, players will want to head to Steamy Stacks, the POI located in the northeast corner of the island. Specifically, players will want to head to building 5, which is the larger structure towards the northeast within the named location. Head three floors up to what appears to be an office, and inside will be NPC 2, Human Bill. Players will get Small Shield Potions when talking to him, but he, unfortunately, doesn't offer much beyond Nuts and Bolts and simple Gold Bar quests.
His biography under the Collections tab indicates that could change as the season progresses, however. Human Bill is apparently heir to the "Smurgulon family fortune" and is eager to "try out all of his father's inventions." This could mean he is the child of whoever is leading the alien invasion and could prove integral to the new mothership abductions and overall story, given that they arrived at the same time. The mentioning of inventions also strongly hints at a potentially new alien weapon at some point, adding to Fortnite's already expansive Season 7 arsenal.
Whether Human Bill heralded their arrival or not, players will definitely want to check out the new Abductors. Should players be lucky enough to get abducted, they'll be transported into a low-gravity loot dungeon. The aliens transport players into the massive mothership, which contains a random assortment of defunct POIs in low gravity. Players must collect as many gold orbs as possible, which will reward them with a massive amount of corresponding tier loot once their timer expires.
Human Bill is a standard NPC, but he has the potential to become more significant later in the season, be it with a new weapon or otherwise. There are rumors of Fornite bringing back a fan-favorite weapon, and it's definitely one that could be an alien invention, so keep an eye out.
