Pokemon GO players in select regions are about to get some exciting new costumed and shiny Pokemon to start tracking down. Although most Pokemon GO events allow everyone in the world to participate, on occasion there's a special event or tie-in promotion that limits features to select regions. That is going to be the case with the latest additions that are sure to catch the eyes of all the collectors in the community.

A new initiative called Pokemon Air Adventures is aiming to help create exciting travel memories for Pokemon GO players by adding special Pokemon that are only going to be available in select regions. First up, there's a new costumed Pikachu variant that players will have to travel to Okinawa in order to catch in the wild.

The Okinawa kariyushi shirt Pikachu is only half of the excitement though. There will also be a shiny Corsola available in the game starting on July 22 that will only be available in select regions. At this point, no details about which regions those will be have been confirmed just yet...

Okinawan kariyushi shirt Pikachu

In Okinawa, Japan, a special Pikachu wearing an Okinawan kariyushi shirt will be appearing in Pokemon GO starting July 22

This Pikachu will be appearing for over a year, so if you are able to travel and get the chance to visit Okinawa, you can try looking for one!

Shiny Corsola

Shiny Corsola will also be appearing in Pokemon GO for the first time starting July 22!

Corsola can be encountered only in certain regions.

There is no time limit planned for this appearance, so when you're able to travel to a region where Corsola appears in the wild, you can venture out to search for a Shiny one!

Although it sounds like both Okinawa kayiyushi shirt Pikachu and shiny Corsola will only be available to catch for players in select regions, don't forget that trading is an option, as well. Players who don't have the ability to travel to Japan for that costumed Pikachu may very likely have a chance to trade for one at some point in the future during an upcoming distance trade event. Be sure to keep some tempting trade fodder ready for those high demand collectibles in the future.

The announcement went on to confirm that Okinawan kayiyushi shirt Pikachu isn't the only costumed Pokemon arriving in the game in the near future. The tease didn't offer any details about which Pokemon might get a costumed treatment next, but it did say that "Just like with the Pikachu wearing a kariyushi shirt, we’re looking to introduce more costumed Pokemon that are available only in certain regions of the world." Hopefully more details about the other costumed Pokemon on the way will arrive soon.

In the coming weeks, we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the rest of the Season of Discovery. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
