ELEX II wins my ‘Most Metal Trailer of E3’ award

It wouldn’t be E3 without at least one trailer going Full Metal, (remember the Werewolf: The Apocalypse previews?). This year, The Industry’s Chris Moyse Award for Most Metal goes to studio Piranha Bytes and publisher THQ Nordic for the gut-crunching trailer to sci-fi sequel ELEX II.

In the follow-up to 2017’s ELEX, (Electic, Lavish, Exhilarating, Xenial), ELEX II will see tough guy superstar Jax defend his family, his people, and their homeland of Magalan from a new intergalactic threat. The new action-RPG will blend visceral close-quarter violence with deep character interactions that will shape the fates of Jax and his allies.

Utilizing sweet jetpack skills, devastating weaponry, and a silver tongue, Jax will explore the land, battle factions of invaders, and both win and lose friends and allies based upon his choices and decisions. The new trailer definitely puts the emphasis on chaotic combat, however, as Jax carves his way through his attackers, 12-string guitars ringing in his (our) ears. The ELEX II trailer actually builds to an exciting climax and has legitimately piqued interest enough to get the sequel on my radar. Good work, marketing folks. DUNNA-DUN-DUN-DUNN-A.

ELEX II is currently in development for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
