The transition to a new console is always exciting. Graphics play an undeniably large role in the hype and anticipation surrounding a new console release. Just when players might start thinking that graphics can't possibly get any better, they are proven wrong. The jump from the PS4 to the PS5 is no exception to that rule.

Great games often don't need an excuse to be replayed, but enhanced graphics usually bring fans back into the fold. With games being able to run at 60 FPS becoming more prevalent as time goes on, the urge to replay certain titles is definitely strong. For now, these games will prove to be just the tip of the iceberg.

10 Madden NFL 21

Tom Brady From Madden NFL 21

The Madden series has been a sports gaming staple since the late 1980s. Madden NFL 21, the latest in the vaunted franchise, received a lot of mixed press when it first released on August 28, 2020. Much of the criticism was directed at the game's lack of innovation when compared to previous entries.

In December 2020, Madden NFL 21 was ported to the PS5. Despite the game's apparent lack of creativity, the graphics are what truly shine on the new generation console. The action on the gridiron has never looked better. Whether playing solo or with friends, witnessing the game's crisp graphical fidelity is highly recommended.

9 The Elder Scrolls Online

Dragon Attack From The Elder Scrolls Online

The quality of the graphics for an open-world title always gets a lot of attention. Tamriel is a large continent filled with all manner of fantastic environments. Getting lost in a world of exploration is both fun and addictive. A game like The Elder Scrolls Online needs to look its best to convey that sense of wonder.

Luckily, fans of The Elder Scrolls Online don't have to wait long for a visual upgrade. The popular MMORPG is being ported to the PS5 on June 8, 2021. Along with it comes the 60 FPS capability that will surely go a long way towards making Tamriel a joy to experience all over again.

8 Borderlands 3

Environment From Borderlands 3

The Borderlands franchise is noted for its unique artistic style. Its choice of color palette makes the presentation look something akin to a comic book. Borderlands 3 is no exception. Although it received generally positive reviews upon release, some criticism was directed towards technical issues and graphical hiccups on consoles.

7 Final Fantasy VII Remake

Cloud From Final Fantasy VII Remake

Final Fantasy VII is perhaps one of the most beloved video games of all time. Originally released in 1997, it proved an instant hit with both old and new fans alike. The Final Fantasy VII Remake experienced a lot of anticipation in its own right in the lead-up to its release in April 2020. Since then, the game has garnered very high reviews from fans and critics.

The PS5 version, known as Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, is set to be released on June 10, 2021. Players who have yet to witness either the original or the remake may find that playing Intergrade serves as a great starting point for experiencing this influential classic.

6 Maneater

Killer Shark From Maneater

Making players feel a great sense of power isn't new in video games. Titles built around controlling a killer shark have been done before, such as Jaws Unleashed. The latest entry in this unusual (and entertaining) genre is Maneater. In a unique twist, Maneater incorporates roleplaying elements in its gameplay, allowing players the opportunity to customize their shark as they see fit.

With the game's PS5 port in November 2020, swimming through the vast depths of the ocean never looked better. Exploring Maneater's various regions while chomping down on those unfortunate enough to get in the way is an experience that needs to be repeated utilizing 60 FPS.

5 Destiny 2

Gameplay From Destiny 2

Coming off the heels of the highly-acclaimed original, Destiny 2 was first released to much fanfare in 2017. The multiplayer first-person shooter is still going strong, with more additional content slated to be released in the coming years.

4 No Man's Sky

Exploration From No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky got off to a rocky start when it was originally released in August 2016. Players felt the game had shipped in a state of incompleteness, with many previously promised features failing to make the cut at launch. Since then, improvements to the game have steadily rehabilitated its reputation.

Along with the addition of new features in the form of updates, No Man's Sky also received a port to the new consoles in November 2020. Visually, the game is nothing short of beautiful. Exploring the diverse, procedurally generated world with all the added features makes for a much better experience compared to what was offered in 2016.

3 Yakuza: Like A Dragon

Ichiban Kasuga & Companions From Yakuza: Like A Dragon

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the most recent installment in the long-running beat 'em up franchise. It differs from other entries in the series by utilizing turn-based mechanics, a staple feature of many JRPGs. A brand-new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, takes the place of the series stalwart Kazuma Kiryu, along with various other recruitable companions.

In March 2021, Yakuza: Like a Dragon received its PS5 upgrade. At 60 FPS, exploring the environs of Kamurocho is a much smoother endeavor this time around. Stuttering is less of a problem as the game can run as smoothly as silk. There's also an option to play in High-Resolution mode, which renders at 4K 30 FPS.

2 Control

Jesse Faden Using Her Powers From Control

In Control, players take the role of Jesse Faden as she investigates the mysterious happenings at a place known as the Oldest House. Aiding Jesse throughout her supernatural explorations are a variety of psychokinetic powers and abilities that can be upgraded over time.

Control garnered very positive reviews upon release in August 2019. In February 2021, the game was made available to play on the PS5. For a game that's focused on fast-paced action and constant movement, the 60 FPS upgrade is a welcome and noticeable improvement.

1 Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Viking Warrior From Assassin's Creed Valhalla

It's always interesting to see what historical setting the Assassin's Creed series is going to examine next. Assassin's Creed Valhalla transports players back to the age of the Vikings in the midst of their invasions of the British mainland. Being an open-world title, there's no shortage of activities for the player to partake in whenever they're not pillaging.

Like many of the other entries on this list, Assassin's Creed Valhalla was made playable on the PS5 in November 2020. The enhanced graphical fidelity of the game makes this particular historical setting gorgeous to behold. Since Valhalla also runs at a more stable pace, the player shouldn't have to deal with too many annoying stutters or framerate drops.
