Ezra Miller's The Flash movie began filming in April and director Andy Muschietti has been providing constant behind-the-scenes updates from the sets. The latest update, however, is a big one, with the director posting a close-up image of a blood-stained Batman suit. But, it isn’t just any suit and is, in fact, the one worn by Michael Keaton when he played the role of the Caped Crusader.

Over the years, Batman's suit has seen a lot of changes, and each iteration of the iconic hero was seen sporting a different version of the bat insignia. However, Keaton's rubber Batsuit in Tim Burton's Batman featured a yellow version of the popular logo, which will be seen making a return in the much-awaited DCEU film The Flash.

The image was shared by Muschietti without any caption, which obviously means that details of Keaton’s involvement in the project are still being kept under wraps. It has been previously confirmed that Keaton will be playing one of two Batmen making an appearance in the film, with Ben Affleck donning the Batman cape one more time to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne. The blood on the suit has many fans wondering if Keaton's Batman will be included in a bloody fight, or if he could even be seen embracing death by the end of the movie.

The Flash will be following the Flashpoint storyline from the DC comics, which includes multiple timelines. The Scarlet Speedster will be seen going back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, but accidentally creates multiple realities as a result. His time-traveling abilities were showcased in Zack Snyder's Justice League when he alters the timeline to save humanity from Steppenwolf’s wrath. This could explain how two versions of Batman will be present in the same film.

Producer Barbara Muschietti, who happens to be director Andy’s sister, had previously confirmed the presence of a Bruce Wayne on The Flash set when she shared an image of a director’s chair that featured the character’s name. While there is no confirmation on whether Keaton and Affleck’s versions of Batman will come face-to-face in the film, they are both definitely present on set to shoot their respective scenes, as suggested by Andy sharing his own image of another Bruce Wayne chair, albeit in a different color.

Affleck’s Batman is the version Miller’s The Flash is familiar with after they worked together in Justice League. It would, therefore, be interesting to see his interactions with Keaton’s version of the Caped Crusader.

The Flash is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 4, 2022.
