Black Desert Is Launching Its First Co-Op Dungeon, Atoraxxion, Later This Summer

Atoraxxion, the first co-op dungeon for Pearl Abyss' Black Desert, is coming later this summer the company announced. While no date has been released just yet, the developer did mention it will be hitting soon for both PC and console this summer.

The first dungeon requiring players to work together to complete it, Atoraxxion will be released in four stages, with each part increasing in difficulty over the last. The first part, Vahmalkea, will be out here "soon."

Per the press release:

"Atoraxxion is divided into four parts and planned for release in the following order: desert, ocean, canyon, and forest: The dungeon’s difficulty will increase with each release, and will differ slightly for each player’s server or platform. Players on the fast-growth Elvia Realm servers will face a higher difficulty, while players on all other servers will have a normal difficulty. Console players will also receive the normal difficulty level. "

Black Desert Online players will need to group together to solve the puzzles of Atoraxxion, as well as face off against enemies and obstacles found in the dungeon. Atoraxxion itself was constructed by "Sage of the Past" Rux Maha Dehkla as a way to repel the Black Spirit (the spirit which takes center stage in BDO). Effectively a weapon factory, Atoraxxion is meant to test the weapons in a multitude of environments .

The team recently released a dev commentary video on the upcoming dungeon, showing off a little bit of the mechanics and more last month. Yesterday the team released a new trailer giving a glimpse at some of the lore around the first stage to release Vahmalkea. You can check out the trailer in the embed above.
