Another month, another substantial update for No Man's Sky — at least it feels that way at the moment. Hello Games has now revealed the third major update coming to its space explorer this year alone, with the headline addition being a graphical overhaul for the entire game. There are so many improvements included in the free update available right now on PlayStation 5 and PS4 that Sean Murray felt the need to list all 21 of them over on the PlayStation Blog.

New styles of volumetric lighting, reworked warp effects, improved rain effects and torch visuals. It has the lot! Areas such as the Space Station Core have been given a new coat of paint, lots of creatures now have fur, and Photo Mode has been updated to accommodate all these visual changes. Perhaps one of the coolest additions is the ability to take to the skies with flyable mounts. "Low-flying creatures, such as giant beetles and flying worms, can now be adopted as your companion. Mount up and enjoy a whole new perspective on planetary exploration."

If you want to check all 21 of the new No Man's Sky enhancements, we recommend heading over to the PlayStation Blog for the complete list. There's a lot to take in, especially if you're a seasoned veteran who has kept up with the game since launch nearly five years ago.
