Perfect World Entertainment and Echtra Games have announced that a large new update has been dropped into Torchlight III. The Spring Update includes the new Cursed Captain class as well as new items to explore. In addition, players can leverage some sweet discounts including 50% off on Switch, 50% off on PS4, and new sales to be announced on Thursday, May 27th.
Walking the plank between life and death, the Cursed Captain is the undisputed commander of the high seas. This corporeal new class can summon a crew of undead swashbucklers during combat or blast enemies with twin sabers, powder kegs, and other classic pirate weapons. Plus, those who take control of the Cursed Captain can collect doubloons from combat to power his skills. The Cursed Captain has two unique skill trees: Cursed and Piracy. Along with these unique skills, the class also introduces a new class-specific armor type to TL3: capes.
The update also features:
- upgrades to the pet system
- a Fur and Fashion contract
- UI improvements
- additional pet slots
- four new species of animal companions with 40 variants
- new fort items including the Fox Arch, Wyrm Skull, and Netherim Specimen
