Pigeon dating sim Hatoful Boyfriend to be delisted from iOS, Android, PS Store in June

Beaking news.

Remember bird dating sim Hatoful Boyfriend? It's hard to forget, to be honest, but if you haven't yet bought it on iOS, Android or the PlayStation Store then your time is limited, as the game is being delisted from these platforms at the end of May.

Manga artist and Hatoful Boyfriend creator Hato Moa announced the news on her Twitter account earlier this week, explaining that both Hatoful Boyfriend and its seasonal sequel Holiday Star will no longer be purchasable on these platforms as "publishing agreements on those platforms are coming to an end". Those who already bought the games through these platforms will still be able to use them, however, while the games will remain on sale via Steam.

If you missed it the first time around, well, Hatoful Boyfriend is a visual novel about dating birds that was released back in 2014. I guess you can say it's been out for aviary long time. You play as the only human student accepted into a school for birds, where you must navigate classes and build relationships with talking birds. It's all pretty eccentric, but the game earned itself a cult following and critical acclaim for the quality of its character writing.

If you're looking for a real throwback, Ian played a bit of Hatoful Boyfriend when it released, and you can watch the full video below. Stick around to hear Ian discuss how he used to breed quails.
