Xbox Game Pass has been a tremendous deal for gamers. However, one shortcoming is that games eventually leave, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers have to choose whether or not to purchase them. Microsoft has announced what games are leaving the service at the end of today, May 15.

While multiple games are leaving, a others are being added to Game Pass including Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster, Dragon Quest Builders 2, and Red Dead Online. The platform looks to add nine more games in total to its current offerings.

All the games slated to leave the Game Pass in May 2021 are available on the PC, with three being available for the console and one available via the cloud. The games included are Alan Wake, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, Dungeon of the Endless, Final Fantasy 9, Hotline Miami, and Plebby Quest: The Crusades. All are slated to be removed at the end of the day.

Game Pass members might want to take advantage of the 20 percent discount off the purchase price that exists for these games before they are removed. While it might be difficult to finish Final Fantasy 9 in the time left, 20 percent off on the game would allow players to continue their journey at a more reasonable price. This can be done with any Game Pass games at any time, but players should act fast on the listed games that won't be priced this low for long if they are interested.

The service has been a great deal for many players, even bringing games like Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance to the platform at launch. With the pass being available for cloud, console, and PC players, Microsoft has found a way to engage players on devices that are otherwise not possible with other systems. While most of the games will eventually leave Game Pass, offering a discount in case players want to own the game permanently has been a positive for those wanting to keep their libraries.

The games that are leaving include some incredible titles, but they're being replaced with others that should pick up the slack. Xbox Game Pass has proven to be a sort of Netflix for the gaming world, and it keeps putting out quality titles for gamers to play at a low price of approximately $15 a month. While the games coming in might not be to everyone's liking, there's most likely a game for everyone already on the service waiting to be played.
